Artist Statement

We see images scattered amidst the everyday that we may become numb to them. I hope you’re not numb to what’s here. My goal as an artist is to capture the beautifully subtle realities. To pay attention and elicit the genuine emotions that unravel on your intimate occasion from not only yourselves, but also your loved ones. It’s one thing to capture what you look like, and it’s another to capture who you are. I’m here to focus on the latter while keeping things fun, together.

The process with me is a partnership more than anything else. It's about making images with you, not just of you. I stress that because it's how we make photographs relatable, personal, and honest. It’s how we’re able to create depth and a story. It’s more than images, it’s relationships. It’s a reflection of your relationship, your relationship with friends and family, as well as with me. It’s what allows me to emerge myself in the midst of the tension and anxiety of the wedding day to be there for you, and with you. When the tension passes, we can begin making photographs that are beautiful and meaningful, especially to you.

Remember, these photographs aren’t the only thing left from your wedding day, but rather your love is. I’m simply here to jog your memory.

I look forward to meeting you for the first time, and building a genuine partnership together :]

friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival
